Flash Europe continues to expand: New branch offices opened in St. Petersburg and Istanbul
Filderstadt, 05/10/2011. The specialist for urgent transport solutions promotes international growth through the opening of two new branch offices in Turkey and Russia on May 1.
Strategy: Close proximity to customers, dense network throughout Europe
The two new branch offices are of great strategic importance for the logistics specialist, which owes a large part of its positive business development to the automotive industry. One of the reasons Flash Europe selected Istanbul as a new branch office location is the close proximity to Bursa, where many of the world’s largest automotive suppliers and manufacturers have already set up operations. There is also an increasing number of automotive manufacturers who have production facilities in Russia. In addition, the demand for vehicles is expected to considerably increase on the Russian market, which would subsequently lead to a sharp boost in production.
“The connection from Russia to Western Europe, as well as from Turkey to Western Europe and Russia, is becoming increasingly more significant. As a provider of premium logistics services in the air and on the road, we would like to give our customers a decisive competitive advantage,” says Frederik Luz, Managing Director Central Europe. “The close proximity to our customers’ production facilities is essential, as it ensures we are able to optimally cater to their needs. For this reason, we started establishing branch offices in Europe in 2003,” explains Luz. With the inclusion of the two new branches in Russia and Turkey, Flash Europe is now represented in 14 countries throughout Europe (Germany, Poland, France, Romania, Luxembourg, Slovakia, Morocco, Spain, Portugal, Hungary, Tunisia, Czech Republic, Russia, Turkey).
Local logistics expertise: Erhan Ün and Sergey Burkov
Flash Europe relies on two experienced local logistics specialists for the establishment of its new branch offices. “This enables customers to benefit from a contact person, who speaks the local language and possesses regional expertise and extensive experience with premium logistics services specifically for the automotive industry,” notes Frederik Luz, summarizing the advantages.
Erhan Ün, a native of Turkey, takes on responsibility for the establishment of the branch in Istanbul. The logistics expert has successfully managed business operations in Germany as a dispatching director for the past four years. 30-year old Sergey Burkov assumes the position of Country Manger in Russia. A native of Russia, he has worked as operations manager in St. Petersburg for the past five years and is regarded as a customs expert.
